April 2017 Xbox Live Games With Gold

Wow, I’m late as anything for this one. The video was uploaded about a week ago, but I just now went back to see it – looks like I missed it when it was uploaded. In any case, time to cover another months free games on Xbox Live.

Edit: I originally published this with the year as 2016. Totally goofed there.

In case you’re new to it, it’s simple: If you have an active Xbox Live subscription, you can get these games added to your account. On 360, they are yours to keep and play whenever – on Xbox One, you have to have an active subscription to play, but odds are that’s a given for you if you are getting these. The 360 titles are playable on the Xbox One, and if you don’t have an Xbox One yet, you can still redeem the titles to your account for when you do get one!

Anyway, on to the video!

Xbox One

Ryse: Son Of Rome

Oh boy… an Xbox One launch title.. great. Well, this isn’t all bad – I’ve heard it’s a pretty cool game, so, it might be fun. I’ll give it a try for sure.

The Walking Dead: Season 2

Oh boy… more.. Walking Dead… C’mon Microsoft, can’t ya try to save this stuff for October? I swear that’s a running theme here. Anyway, I’m not a TWD fan – doesn’t interest me, but hey, when I do get around to playing these games, it will be nice to have part 2 to play as well as part 1, right? The Telltale games are pretty highly rated, so I figure I’ll enjoy it.

Xbox 360

Darksiders

In a funny twist, I actually got Darksiders 2 for PC dirt cheap a few weeks ago, so having the first game on 360 will allow me to enjoy the second one all the more when I finally get around to playing it. I like action RPG’s so this should be a fun time!

Assassins Creed Revelations

Oh boy.. Assassins Creed… *yawn* As much as I should play these, I never get around to them… maybe one day.

So, really a somewhat lackluster showing this month. That’s not bad though, sometimes that’s better than 1 good game and a ton of bad ones – middle of the road is alright to me. Incidentally, I’ve got such a backlog of games over this past year that I honestly am glad these aren’t “must play” offerings, otherwise I’d feel even worse about having somewhere around 100 games waiting to be tried.

Maybe one day soon when I really devote some time to gaming.. you would be amazed how little I actually play these days.

  1. I downloaded Ryse, and will probably get the Walking Dead too. Telltale makes good games, but they can be very buggy….
