We’re coming up on another month, which means, yes, another set of games free with Xbox Live Gold. Wow, that reads like a paid advertisement if I’ve ever seen one. Let’s try this again – new month, new games, same old same old. I just really need to pad these out. Anyway, yeah, September games with gold. Let’s check out the video.
Okay, on the Xbox One we have Forza 5 and Oxenfree. Forza is a racing series I need to get around to playing – I have the first 2 entries in the Horizon series, but just haven’t gotten the urge to fire em up and play. I know they are good titles (better than a previous racing game that shall remain nameless) but still, I have to be in the right mood for a racing game.
Oxenfree, if memory serves, is a mystery game about some friends, some vacation, or.. something. I recall it being a big thing a couple of years ago, so, eh, it might be worth checking out. Maybe… at some point.
On the Xbox 360 we have Hydro Thunder Hurricane and Battlefield 3. Hydro Thunder needs no introduction to those of us who were in arcades around 2000, and from what I understand this release is still pretty well done in the same spirit – I might check it out come the first.
Following that we have Battlefield 3. I already have Battlefield 4 and Hardline, which I still, like so many other games, have yet to play. It won’t bother me to have BF3 available since it seems well loved by many people. Again, I’ll find out when I decide to play it.
Yeah, that’s this months set of games. I hate to say nothing too spectacular, but nothing bad. Oxenfree is probably the low point of this list, but that’s only subjective in comparison to the other titles being offered. I think they are all fine and cover a wide enough selection of genres.
