In another peculiar bit of SNES Classic Edition news, apparently pre-orders are getting cancelled again. This time, however, these are legitimate pre-orders and not the obviously premature ones that Walmart had opened up a few months ago.
Originally I was made aware of the fact that pre-orders from Hawaii were getting cancelled at oddly high rates, and the original article focus was to be solely on that – this has evolved, however, into an issue where it seems orders from all over are getting nixed, for seemingly no real reason.
Well, I say seemingly no reason, but there are theories – primarily that duplicate pre-orders are being cancelled. This would make sense to ensure that others can get ahold of the console, as opposed to scalpers getting and re-selling them. Still, it hurts those who wanted to get one for themselves and another as a gift, or other such reasons to buy more than one.

Stuff is really all over the place with this one, to a point where I can’t keep up. Well, I imagine I could if I was super concerned, but I’m not – I’m not really seeking one of these consoles, but I still find it worth addressing the chaos that this has been so far, and I’m sure will be once the console releases later this month.
I will say this much – this wouldn’t be an issue if enough of these machines would be made to properly go around. It’s some shit to have to fight for these things, no matter how you look at it.
Honestly, I don’t know what to say about it. The more I look into it, the more of an insane clusterfuck it becomes. I’ll keep an eye out for more info and hopefully do a follow up, but for now I’ll leave you with a few links and call it a day on this one.

With all order canceled all around the world, man second hand SNES Mini Classic price gonna be insane… Worst than what happened when they announced that the NES Classic wouldn’t produce more of these…
