So One Of My Articles Made It Onto Reddit. That’s Something!

I’m not going to lie – I avoid Reddit. Something about open discussion sites of that nature has just never appealed to me. I could go more in depth, but that isn’t the point here. The point is, I don’t go there.

The other day, I noticed my traffic was oddly high (and at the time of me writing it remains higher than it has in pretty much ever) and I looked at the site statistics, discovering that I had traffic directly from Reddit.

I began to worry, as my presumption would be that if anything I wrote was shared there, it would probably be ridiculed by some jerk, or something similar. To my surprise, it wasn’t that – my article on the Eurolovers channel being taken down was shared to the Initial D subreddit: apparently that YouTube channel was a very popular one among fans of this car racing anime and game series, due to it’s heavily Eurobeat based soundtrack, and when people discovered the channel was gone, they hunter for info, with my article being the one that came up. A user decided to share it, for those who would be interested, and that’s that! Traffic my way, and a nice bit of knowledge that one of my articles proved useful enough, mainly due to it’s very specific nature, to be worth sharing!

I updated the article a bit in response to a bit of commentary in the Reddit thread. While I would find out that commentary wasn’t directed at my article, it was still worth tweaking and clarifying some of my comments that may be confusing to those reading. No harm in updating something, right?

Anyway, I thought that was kind of cool. It’s all good traffic, and might gain me some more regular readership.
