Star Wars: The Last Jedi – Trailer

It’s safe to say I’m a fan of Star Wars. While I keep my enjoyment of the series somewhat low key compared to other fans, I do get excited about the new films, and trailers for them.

In this case, a new trailer for the 8th main film in the series, “The Last Jedi” was released last night and it’s safe to say I enjoyed it. It certainly builds up my anticipation for the film, hinting as to what does happen in it. Of course, that’s what film trailers are made to do, but that doesn’t change me liking what I saw.

The more dynamic space battles, lacking in the The Force Awakens, look wonderful. The little penguin-like aliens, the Porg, are adorable. Rey’s training, reminiscent of Luke’s in The Empire Strike Back, contrasted with what seems like a constant nervous breakdown in Kylo Ren seems to flow together perfectly. There looks to be so much going on, again, much like Empire. That makes sense of course – this is classic 3 act storytelling, the same structure that made the original Star Wars trilogy so amazing to so many people. It just works, and I’m looking forward to the film.

It’s hard to comment on a trailer, really, but I can safely say I like what I see.
