Star Wars – Why It’s Popular – Video by Cinemassacre

Star Wars is incredibly popular. That simple. Some of you out there may not like it, and I can understand that, but I know I, like many many others, am a fan, in fact, I just got some original LaserDisc copies the other day, that’s how much I do genuinely like the series.

I’m not an obsessed fan, I don’t know every characters name, all their back stories, what have you, but I do know plenty and do have strong opinions on the series, both the classic trilogy, the prequels, and even the new trilogy, and side films that are being released today.

Why is Star Wars popular, though? That’s a good question, and everyone has their ideas. Recently, James Rolfe, of Cinemassacre, decided to condense his previously released study of the original trilogy and really tying it all together to try to explain, in his eyes, just why the films are so loved.

It can be said simply that they are a amalgamation of great storytelling over the years, but there is more than that, more than I can really put into words, and it seems James has a hard time as well.

Give the video a watch, and see what you get out of it. Maybe you will appreciate the films more, or maybe at least you will understand, if you don’t like the films, why so many others do.
