Titanfall 2 Single Player Cinematic

Ah, Titanfall. Remember the campaign slogan, “believe the hype?” Well the hype was just that, hype. While I do enjoy the game, it was spoken of as something far greater than it really was (but isn’t that always the case?) and quickly fell by the wayside as gaming continued progressing.

It looks like in Titanfall 2 EA is trying their best to “fix” what made the original game so lackluster to so many people, and one of the major complaints was the fact that the original game didn’t actually feature a single player campaign – even the campaign mode of the original game was online multiplayer, really just acting as a set playlist of missions with some loosely binding story told between them. It sounded so “meh” that I personally didn’t bother with it.

In Titanfall 2, though, we will have that single player story we were hoping for, and I’m optimistic about what I see. The universe of Titanfall has quite a bit going for it, and from what I saw of gameplay during the tech test last month, I could see quite a great experience coming from single player here.

Of course, the actual release will be the deciding moment – this will either be an amazing experience spanning hours upon hours, or will be a lackluster shooting fest that will be completed the first night most people own the game.

This trailer does look cool, though, so there is that. Enjoy.
