So, shortly after my last articles on the subject. Triberr decided to push one of the missing articles up: I figured it would throw the other article up there as well, but it never did – not only that, thanks to the 14 article import per week limit, and me not knowing exactly where I …

An Update On XadaraCast
So, you may recall that Podcast I was working on late last year, titled XadaraCast (yeah, not the most original name, sure). Well, as it stands, I’ve taken down the only 3 episodes that were produced and am putting the project on Hiatus, for now, for a general reboot. The reasons are varied, but it …

Re: How To Piss Off Someone From Memphis
Oh boy, another one of these X, Y, or Z articles about Memphis! This time, we got “How to Piss Off Someone from Memphis”, an article that, oddly enough, is written by someone who is from but, according to their profile, no longer lives in Memphis. Funny, looking at her profile on the site, it …

Facebook And That Little Flower Reaction
Ya know, I thought people had better memories than they seem to. This past week on Facebook, I noticed people talking about a little “flower” reaction, alongside the usual heart, laugh, cry, anger, and all that. This, as you probably know by now, is the “Thankful” reaction, which was introduced last year, just a little …

A Weekend Away From Things
I took the opportunity this weekend, though not by original intent, to work on other things, away from Xadara: namely the day jobs, and just going out and enjoying some things. I’m well beyond behind on articles, and video making, but that’s fine; the previous few articles have trended quite well, for what they are, …

The Classic Utility Bill Scam Is Back In Memphis
One particular type of scam that’s rather common are ones involving your utilities, mainly electricity, where they claim you owe a large amount on the bill and you have to pay now. Thing is, you can’t pay with your bank card, they only take cash at an undisclosed location or, to make things simpler, you …

The Commercial Appeal To No Longer Be Printed In Memphis
Memphis’s primary local newspaper, the Commercial Appeal, will no longer be printed here in Memphis, Tennessee, starting with the April 18th edition. This marks the first time since the Civil War that the paper hasn’t been printed in its home city. This means the end of jobs for 19 people who work at the production …

HHGregg Is Closing All 220 Stores – This Doesn’t Surprise Me
Home technology store chain HHGregg is closing all of its 220 stores after failing to find a buyer for the now-struggling company. It’s the usual case of a business going into the red financially and filing chapter 11 bankruptcy to try to liquidate all its assets, pay its debts, and maybe restructure and get back …

Alleged IRS Scammer Kingpin Gets Arrested In Mumbai!
In a nice bit of scammer news, a man by the name of Sagar Thakkar was arrested in Mumbai as the suspected leader of a ring of IRS phone scammers. I’ve covered a few of these scams before, where people are cold-called out of nowhere and told that they owe some extremely high amount in …

Some Mild Burnout
It was bound to happen, sooner or later – I’m starting to get slightly burnt out on writing about some things. Oddly, of all the things it could be, rocket launches. Not classic ones, far from it, but current ones. It’s all the same stuff, really, and while each launch is unique to watch, it …

Re: The Power Of Blogging
Blogging is a somewhat dead medium. It used to be the most popular form of expression on the internet – today, YouTube has pretty much supplanted it, and the “vlog” (video-log) format has supplanted what information blogs once provided. Sure, a video can be more enjoyable than text, in some cases, but there is a …

10 Years Of Xadara – What’s The Point?
So, I’ve explained to the best of my ability just what the name “xadara” actually means (if anything) and the origins and story of the website itself, but one question still remains: What’s the point? Indeed, that’s the question that is probably most important, but can be answered so simply, What’s the point? Well, there …

10 Years Of Xadara – What Exactly Is “Xadara”?
I’m sure it’s a question that’s come up to people who stumble across this site: What is Xadara? Does it have some kind of meaning? Is it just a name? How do you even pronounce it? Where does it come from? Might as well cover it all, for those curious. Let’s begin! What is the …

10 Years Of Xadara – A Condensed History
That’s right, this little hole in the wall website has been around for a whole decade! Call out from work, school, or whatever you have going on and get ready to party! No, actually, don’t do that. Be a responsible person and continue your normal life. Seriously though, it has indeed been 10 years to …

A Blog Post About Nothing Particular
Sometimes, even when I have a massive backlog of things to write about, I just don’t want to write. I want to game, I want to go thrifting, I want to read a book, I wanna watch a movie; anything but writing for the website. It isn’t because I don’t care or because I don’t …
