Last week I mentioned I had procured a ratty old Dell PowerEdge R310 server from work. It’s beat up, missing most of the hard drive carrier sleds (I still don’t know where those went) but it worked and was mine to do with what I saw fit. Over the past weekend I’ve devoted quite a …

Another Garbage Game List: Polygon’s “100 Best Games Of The Decade”
Coming hot off the heels of IGN’s terrible “Top 100 Games of All Time” list Polygon, another top notch dumpster fire gaming “journalism” site decided to publish their own top 100 list, this time on the “Best games of the Decade” spanning 2010 to 2019. I’ll spare the criticism that a decade really starts at …

I Got An Old Dell Server From Work – What To Do With It?
The great thing about working in a privately owned shop which has a long history of procuring and selling all kinds of surplus electronics (alongside the mainstay of video games and the like) is that, sometimes, you get to take home the most wild of things. I’ve previously mentioned a few 2007 iMac’s I got …

The Late Life And Future Of The Xbox 360
Almost 5 years ago I bought a used Xbox 360 from a local game store. It was an original model, made in 2008, and was sold half jokingly with me reminded it could die on me at any moment. The console has not died on me, and indeed still works a treat. It’s been given …

The 2019 IGN “Top 100 Games Of All Time” List Is A Complete Joke
I know, I’m a little late getting at this one (as I am with virtually everything) but I couldn’t let this one happen without sharing my thoughts on it. When the list was first brought to my attention the main focus many had was how there were no Sega games, for example, on it, and …

What’s Coming For November 2019 On Xadara
A new month means a new update on just what I’ve got planned for the next 4 weeks or so here. Not the most interesting content, unless you’re a particular type of person who really likes this kind of “what the person is thinking” content but hell, it wouldn’t feel right starting the month without …

And here we are, Halloween day, and part four of “Castlevaniathon!” What a perfect day to finish this series on! Things pick up right where they left off — with James blowing his character up in Castlevania 64, disappointed with what the game was. As James would put it, he was looking in the wrong …

Spam Showcase Vol. 2: “Chevron Texaco Oil Promotion”
Time for another Spam Showcase, this time a short one. Apparently, according to an email titled “Re: Congratulations” I’ve won what I can only guess is a large sum of money! Hooray, I no longer have to do the “used game store” rat race! Well, that’s what I would think if this wasn’t obviously a …

Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 79: Castlevania – Part I – Episode Review
It’s the week of Halloween, my favorite time of the year, and what better way to do the week here on Xadara than by covering not one, not two, not three, but a whole 4 AVGN Halloween episodes in a 4 day marathon! This is partially by coincidence, but just as much by plan — …

You’ve Got To Know When To Fold Them | The King Of The Hill Episode Review Hiatus

Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 78: Wayne’s World – Episode Review
Wayne’s World is an absolutely classic early 90’s film. While one of many films based on Saturday Night Live skits, it maintains a cult following to this day. Much like seemingly any movie, it was natural, if an odd choice, that video games based on the film would be made and in this episode The …
