I meant to get this post out last week, but I got caught up in quite a bit of stuff. Go figure! I also haven’t been posting as much about tech scammers, but it’s somewhat hard to do properly – there are so many videos with so much content that all really kind of is …

59 Years Ago, Sputnik 2 And A Dog In Space
One month shy of the launch of Sputnik 1, another R-7 missile was readied on the pad at Baikonur Cosmodrome, carrying another special payload destined for Earth orbit. This time the payload wasn’t just a simple metal sphere with a radio transmitter – instead, the payload was a dog named Laika. Laika was a stray …

50 Years Ago, The Manned Orbiting Laboratory Test Flight
50 years ago today, on November 3rd 1966, the United States Air Force launched the 6th Titan III-C booster on a very unique test flight. Sitting atop the powerful launch vehicle was an extension made from a spare Titan I rocket oxidizer tank classified as OPS 0855, built to simulate an orbital laboratory payload, and …

Time Marches Forward – An Update
Ah, been a while since I really sat down and typed up what’s on my mind in regards to this site, future projects, and what have you. It’s also 3AM and I really should be heading to bed, but of course, I can’t. GO ME right? Anyway, let’s get down to business. I’m happy with …

Rumor: WiiU Production Ends This Week
I am not one to follow the rumor train – generally they are all just wild fantasies that someone gets wind of and spreads it like fact, when it’s clearly unlikely. Generally though, rumors of the end of production on hardware and software tend to be true more often than not. In this case, just …

Non PC DOOM Clones – Nostalgia Nerd
Ah, Doom. Arguably the FPS of the Halloween season, and certainly one of the most legendary games on the PC side of things. With a new release this past years, Doom, as a series, is still alive and strong. Let’s go back, however, to the early 90’s UK gaming scene: The IBM-PC computer architecture that …

Twitter Is Shutting Down Vine – Good Riddance
Apparently Twitter is losing money at a rate large enough for them to not only lay off 9% of its total staff, but it’s killing off Vine, it’s video sharing service for 6 second looping video clips. Good riddance I say. Sure, some people used vine for more interesting clips; Voice actress Tara Strong, for …

It’s coming down to the wire, this last week before Halloween! This is one of the absolute best weeks of the year, with everything reaching maximum levels of spooky horror goodness! Sometimes I Hate The PlayStation 2 Controller
I go thrifting often, so often I should (and will soon) start a video series on it. Of course, I’m on the hunt for electronics, and I’ve found some amazing things – that Nintendo Wii that I modded with no issue, my original Xbox that has since been so heavily modded it’s barely anything like …

CGR Makes A Video Private Due To Negative Feedback About Patreon
Mark, of Classic Game Room, released yesterday another video acting as a “preview” for his patreon exclusive content and it was met, once again, with quite the backlash. His 2 minute preview videos that then ask people to donate on Patreon just aren’t cutting it, and people are calling him out on it. Something I …
