You didn’t think we would have a high profile Atlas V launch without me sharing the launch highlights video, did you? Of course not. While there wasn’t too much to see with this mornings launch, it still put on quite a show for what we could see, especially some footage taken above the clouds from an aircraft near the launch site. This footage provides an amazing view of the Atlas V booster climbing up out of the clouds as it carried the NASA InSight lander on the first leg of its mission to Mars.
The Atlas V is an amazing machine. Absolutely reliable with a very industrial look about it — it’s funny, I look at rockets like some people look at cars. Videos like this are just a joy to watch, and this particular launch highlights video is no exception.
