Here we have an awesome little video that Arianespace produced for the 100th launch of the Ariane 5 – Flight VA243 – showing some awesome views of engine ignition and lift off.
I never get tired of seeing this kind of detailed footage of these launches, of the raw power of these machines as they begin their short but critical missions.
As mentioned before, This flight was a success with the pair of satellites being launched injected into their proper orbits. Ariane 5 is one of those somewhat forgotten boosters, especially in today’s “space climate,” so to speak, that I just love. That’s probably due to it reminding me slightly of the Titan IV, but that’s something to discuss in the future…
