I mentioned a while a go that I’ve had a few idea on content I’d like to write — namely, a couple of review series which I think would be pretty fun to do, and would attract an audience.
As you can imagine I naturally enjoy writing about things that I, well, enjoy. That’s obvious, but when it becomes a regular thing — when you have a steady topic to touch on, that’s a different kind of project. It’s something you can, depending on the subject matter, plan ahead for and really map out, which makes the entire writing process easier.
This is opposed to “reactionary” content, like news topics and current events, which sure, can be enjoyable to cover at times (if only to vent about absurdities in them) but it feels like a race keeping up with such at times. That’s why I’ve cut back on some of what I cover, and it’s helped over the past near year.
Still, I’ll write about things that catch my interest but in the mean time I like the idea of having a set of steady articles ready to go. It’s kind of like how a TV station will have a regular set of programming and special stuff.
That all being said, what is this “regular programming” to come? More review type entries mostly, but also some other helpful content. While I’ve tried in the past to keep certain days dedicated to certain content I’m not going that route — instead, I’m going to continue to put out things on a more “when I feel like it” style like I have now, but with more subjects being discussed.
Guides as well. How to do X, or Y with various pieces of technology or gaming equipment — How to care for these things, purchase guides, what have you. I’ve got years of experience with these things and insight that may be of use to people. That’s kind of my thing, after all, providing my own insight onto things I take interest in, be they serious or just for fun.
I mentioned before about game reviews. Yeah, that stuff is coming. Pointless in 2019? Maybe, but I like the idea of there being, as time passes, an archive of what I think about many games, old and new, so take that for what you will.
I’ll end with a bit of a hint as to one thing that’s to come — something I’m going to go over is a well-loved animated series from the 90’s on through to the late 2000’s. All of it.
