Pardon the relative silence, I’m right in the middle of a very busy week. Still, I felt like posting this relatively short entry to share that I’ve got some interesting phone equipment coming in which will certainly make for some quality text and video content — at least, for the more traditional telephony inclined kind of person.
The component in question really is kind of a key thing for someone with my interests – a PBX, which will allow me to not just bounce calls around my house in the same way businesses can, but also this will make data calls to and from my home trivial — something quite lost on much of today’s “always on” internet culture but for those of us who remember the days of dial up network access, it has a unique charm. At the very least, such would be a reasonable gateway to my BBS.
There is really a lot to say about this, but that time will come once I have the PBX here, tested, and operational in my excessive home setup. It’s all something to have fun with, and that’s really the point, isn’t it? Having fun.
