Nope. I’m Still Not Going To Continue Covering Games With Gold.

Microsoft decided to publish a Games with Gold video today, covering the July games. This means last month was most certainly a fluke in there not being a video (likely due to resources being pulled for more important video projects) but that doesn’t change the fact that I no longer wish to cover the Games with Gold lineup.

In the end, every month was basically me saying the same things; being optimistic on whats there and complaining about the comments left by the masses. It had truly become a chore and after 6 years I had grown incredibly tired of it.

So, that’s seriously it. I won’t be continuing the series. It’s done. My standpoint going forward will always be this — try to find something you may enjoy, quit expecting every AAA game to be in the lineup, and take the lineup each month as an opportunity to try something new. Or don’t, it’s none of my business but at least trying to pull a positive out of each month is better than bitching about it in YouTube comments and clicking that oh-so-precious dislike button the masses seem to masturbate to.

So, that’s that. I did my part for half a decade to look on the positive side of Microsoft’s offerings, and I just don’t have it in me anymore. The gaming scene is… well… I’ve got a small essay to write on that. Let’s just say I’m not a fan of any of it.

Anyway, what was the point? Oh, right — nothing to come later. Not in GwG anyway.

Adios.
