After The Storm…

To say I’ve just went through a trying period in life would be an understatement. Indeed, the past three months have been a special kind of low-grade hell as my life has been turned completely upside down by an incredible chain of unfortunate circumstances which, while not too bad on their own, mixed together into what can only be described as a perfect storm to absolutely devastate virtually all aspects of what was my normal life in the first half of the year.

I’ve waited this long to say anything about this not because of any intrinsic limit on my ability to write — I’ve had only a short period where publishing online would be considered “difficult” to any degree. No, the real issue is I simply haven’t felt like writing on the events at hand which, if you do the math, were just starting to occur around the time of my 4th of July post. Things started bad and then just spiraled into a greater level of bullshit which, yes, I’ll get into some in the near future, but it suffices to say my ability to trust people in both personal and professional capacities has been greatly damaged by the events of this past Summer.

It hasn’t been all bad, though – one positive includes a new day job which pays quite well and I genuinely enjoy. I’m safe, have enough of my equipment with me (instead of it being in storage) to be able to work on most of my hobbies, and I once again feel like my life is some level of stable, even if it’s only just that.

Such is life, of course… This post is simply a refresher. A catch-up, like we needed yet another one here, to at least say “Hey, I’m still here.”

Hopefully I’m back to regular writing in the upcoming weeks. I just have to find my groove again. It’s been two and a half years of me trying to get back into regular writing but, given everything that’s changed perhaps this is a fresh opportunity for me to rediscover my love of putting ideas in textual form on the internet.

More to come, as always. For now, sleep.
