I know, I’m normally the kind of person who doesn’t go too into the whole “it’s a new year according to an arbitrary calendar that we all use, so let’s make a big deal out of it” — hell, I was asleep when the clock struck midnight as I didn’t want to ruin my sleep schedule — but after the personal disaster that 2022 turned out to be, I figured now would be a time to be a bit optimistic and use this date as a delineation point — out with the old, in with the new. Well, in a manner of speaking, that is.
Do let it be known, under no uncertain terms, that 2022 did end a complete shit show for me. If one word could sum it up, that word would be betrayal. I won’t focus on that here, but it suffices to say things are quite a bit different from how they were a year ago, and that’s fine. It just has been, like many things in life, a challenge which takes time to surpass; to repair the damage done and to move forward to Прекрасное далёко, the “wonderful future” that awaits me.
That being said, as far as my online presence is concerned I hope to finally move past the massive barrier I’ve had in my desire to write over the past few years and get back to all the crazy stuff regular readers love. As always, I’ve got a lot planned, but I need to pace myself so as to not get burned out again. Expect things paced, but hopefully with more passion in my writing as it was a few years ago, before events like the ‘rona sapped my energy and drive to ramble on and on like I love to do.
Here’s to more fun here, along with a healthy dose of snark from time to time. What would this 15+ year project be without that?
