When I originally wrote a piece a few months ago regarding the Catfished YouTube Channel I had an idea of possibly writing about some of the videos being published to the channel. While it may seem outright cruel, at a point I lose empathy for most scam victims, especially many of the people who have been shown on this program, as they seem to be quite often not the best people: or, at least, the videos are edited that way, but in some cases it’s downright obvious they are just… something else.
I have, however, put this off, as I didn’t want to be that mean, and really don’t totally like the idea of giving the channel more attention, as I feel they actually are exploiting these people for views. That being said, they do agree to be helped by them and appear on a video so, whatever: that’s their problem.
That changed with their most recent video, where a woman thinks that comedy actor Tyler Perry is dating her. Yeah, typical celebrity romance scam, but damn, this woman is a piece of work…. and no, not in a good way.
Seriously, this whole thing is a bit of a special level of what the fuck. She’s a minister, so we know she’s already very gullible by believing the biggest lie ever told. Arrogant to the max would be an understatement, but especially when it comes to the typical drivel that overly religious people say — that Jesus is guiding her, that her life is “blessed” (you know, magically enchanted) and all that crap. Hell at one point when she talks about her desire for intimacy she literally looks to her left and apologizes to the “lord” for talking like that in church… as if anyone or anything is actually there! If anyone did that in any other case they would be treated as possibly crazy… just saying.
For some reason that I find odd with her being a woman of African descent she repeatedly uses the phrase “black” in a negative sense (to quote her “turn their black asses down” — you know, a statement that would be incredibly racist in any other context but is somehow fine here — while going on about her having standards (like everyone doesn’t have standards they want in a partner) but, damn, she’s just so full of it.
There’s an odd irony in her saying that she’s not a Tyler Perry fan, yet she has “dreamed” about them being together since 2008. I don’t know, the whole way this got going makes no sense! Like, seriously, I can’t quite figure out how this actually got properly going if she wasn’t a fan.. but then again was dreaming about him previously? It makes absolutely no sense.
I will admit Nicki is a dynamic person. She would be quite a fun person if she wasn’t so absolutely full of herself and so into absolute bullshit.
Eventually the whole thing boils down to the typical money scam, cash mule garbage and sure, at the end Nicki cuts ties with “Tyler” but goddamn, this person is “successful” in life? Being this arrogant, this naive, this deluded? It’s sickening. It’s especially telling that she hid some information from them… makes ya think.
Thankfully, I’m not alone as the comments do their own fine job of ripping into her. It seems no one really likes her or feels sorry for her which, sadly, is an all too common thing on this channel, but man, there’s only one person I’ve seen on this channel who’s worse than her, and we’ll get to that soon enough.
