2023 Year In Review

The planet made another successful trip around the Sun and, as is tradition, the world today celebrates this arbitrary event. Naturally, I thought it would be good to do a quick bit of reflection on the past year, for what value brings me to write and you to read.

It was, well, a year. They all feel the same at this stage. I continued to mostly stay focused on my personal projects, but did have a few pretty awesome events happen. The trip to Milwaukee for Midwest Gaming Classic was pretty cool, even if it didn’t end the best of ways (more on that is long overdue) and I’m glad I finally got to go, even if only for a bit, to that city. Knocked something off my bucket list with that one, so I’d still say it was well worth it.

On the Xadara front proper I at least got back to writing more regularly. That’s a big win and I hope to go into 2024 steady with more entries and things continuing to get back to how they used to be here.

On the BBS front Final Zone is alive and well, and I’ve also started another bulletin board system for the world to ignore… I mean, enjoy. More on that, again, in the very near future. On a semi-related note, my work on Wolf River Telephone and its contributions to PhreakNet are stable. I plan on doing some updates in the upcoming days and possibly writing more about it, since I’ve yet to really do any of that.

On the “vent about annoying shit” end of things, I’ve got more ideas coming but I’ve been recently wanting to focus on more purely constructive and educational efforts, as opposed to as much analysts of the idiocy both online, and in my day to day life. I’ve got plenty to say, for sure, much of it long overdue, but I’m simply waiting till I get things going in the upcoming month to really let loose. That’s the plan, anyway.

Otherwise it’s just been some light gaming and going with the flow. That’s all it ever is, it seems, but that’s okay. I prefer to keep things very relaxed.

See you next year.
