Well, I learned what I needed to from Test Post – Part One. Primarily that for whatever reason the way WordPress now formats RSS feeds is an absolute fuck, so I still have to rely on zapier to create an importable feed, and two, that at least that still works.
The idea was the automatically import articles into my BBS, which worked previously but, as I wrote less and less, I turned off, and never did turn back on until, well, today.
These two posts were specifically to test that feature, and while I still don’t like it I may well keep it going because, where’s the real harm, right?
At least, until I find a better way to convert the RSS output of this site into something that can be directly imported into my BBS with much better control. Yeah, I know I could write a converter myself, but I can’t code for shit, so that ain’t happening. Could ask a friend to do it but it’s not that critical, and he has more important stuff to do so it’s just going to be the way it is.
That said, I have some other success on the BBS front, but I’ll write about that in the next few days once all the nitty-gritty around it is completed.
