Time to start on Season 5 of the Angry Video Game Nerd, and what a game James chose to look at for this episode — Action 52 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. This game is legendary among gamers for the same reason many games James has covered in the series are: it’s terrible. The difference …

Finally Getting Back Into The Groove Of Writing About Gaming
I really didn’t want to end today without having written something. I’ve been on a bit of a hot streak recently with posts here, but today work really demanded my all and since I’ve gotten home I’ve felt like nothing but trying to relax. Still, I want to keep the momentum of this hot streak …

No, The Xbox Series X And PlayStation 5 Won’t Cost $1000
Next up on the absurd rumors surrounding the upcoming consoles from Microsoft and Sony, we have the price question on launch – a pretty big question for early adopters and, historically, a factor which can actually set the course for sales rates on a given system compared to another — people are likely to buy …

Reactions To The PlayStation 5 Logo Reveal Show Just How Pathetic Gaming Culture Has Become
Yesterday Sony decided to show at least something related to the upcoming PlayStation 5 console by showing us…. The logo for the console. Okay, that’s fine. We have an official logo to use in media. Great. Awesome. Time to move on with my day and oh, this is being talked about.. quite a bit… by …

This Type Of Classic Gaming Elitism Needs To Stop
I know, I’m late to this one. I’ve been busy but didn’t want to let this one go by without saying my peace on the subject. A week and a half ago Mike Matei (of Cinemassacre fame) posted a tweet which became a pretty “hot take” for a while regarding the use of “rewind” features …

No, The PlayStation 5 Won’t Play Every PlayStation Game Ever.
This rumor has been circulation for quite a few months now, but it really got into gear this past weekend when an article was published on comicbook.com (yes, a comic book website… what they are doing covering games is beyond me) saying that, based on speculation from some guy called “HipHopGamer” (someone I’ve never heard …

Better Late Than Never
I’ve mentioned before about the massive backlog I have of articles to write, Many of them are so far gone from being important that they just aren’t worth it. Others are, at most, a week old and are still relevant enough. The internet, however, seems to want to run on its own time — a …

The “Casual” vs “Actual” Decade
It’s now the year 2020, and everyone, as they tend to be year after year, is celebrating the new year as some kind of chance for new beginnings as well as taking the time to look back over the past, and with this being a big round number everyone is also talking about how we’re …

What’s Coming For 2020 On Xadara
Here we go, the first post of 2020 and of course it’s the obligatory “What’s Coming” post. You can’t say I’m not starting off optimistically, right? Right, let’s begin. First thing I’d say is it stands right now I’m hoping to keep up with my post schedule. It really has made things better on a …

A Look Back At 2019 On Xadara
Well, that’s it. The final post of the year, the one where I take a look back at the previous 365 or so days and ask myself “was this all worth it?” Okay, not really, but I like to see what all happened over the past year. As I kind of “go with the flow” …

2009 Me Would Have Hated 2019 Me
Earlier this year I realized something — in a great many ways I’ve pulled a complete 180 from who I used to be a decade ago. Namely in opinions about some topics, preferences for some things and general interests. It’s kind of funny to think back, but given the stuff that can happen to a …

A Week Of Transition
Here we are, the final day or so of 2019. While I’m not one to get into the whole “new years resolution” thing (mostly due to the arbitrary nature of years, more on that in the future maybe (joke not intended)) I am one to take the opportunity of such an event to shake things …

How To Care For Your Xbox One Or PlayStation 4
With the Christmas holiday behind us I thought I’d do something nice for the community at large, for what its worth, and share some simple tips on taking care of the console you, or a friend, may have gotten (new or used, it’s all the same here), all from the perspective of someone who’s been …

Christmas Memories – Sega Game Gear, 1994
Another Christmas has come and gone and, being the nostalgic person I am, I realized much like Christmas of 2018 marked 25 years since I got my Sega Genesis as a kid, this Christmas marked 25 years since I got a Game Gear, Sega’s very awesome (and very battery hungry) portable console of the early …

Angry Video Game Nerd – Season 4 Review
Ah, Season 4 of The Angry Video Game Nerd. My favorite season by far for a great many reasons. Firstly, it was the first season I began watching as it was new, and thus marks the point where I was “current” with the series. I do believe the Metal Gear review was the first one …
