It’s been a bit of a strange week for Xadara. I haven’t posted much in about a week, but my site traffic has been higher than it has in a long time for reasons I just can’t quite understand. The other weekend I had a spike in traffic which made sense – I was writing …

Hi There. It’s Been A Crazy Week – An Update
It’s been about a good week since the last post here on Xadara and I felt like updating everyone – at least, in short form – on what’s been going on. It’s been a pretty active and rather chaotic week for me. Between preparing for Free Video Game Day at work (this past Saturday, which …

YouTube Is Still Showing Me Channels I’ve Unsubscribed From In My Feed – A Follow Up
Back in July of 2018 I wrote an article (YouTube Is *Still* Showing Me Channels I’ve Unsubscribed From In My Subscription Feed) discussing YouTube showing channels I’ve unsubscribed to in my subscription feed – a problem that many seem to have. I can presume others are having this issue, anyway, for one simple reason: the …

Firefox 66.0.4 Should Provide A Final Fix To The Addon Problem
In a last effort for me to milk the Firefox add-on issue from over this weekend, and to at least let people who may find the page know what’s up, Firefox release 66.0.4 was made available yesterday and contains in its release notes: “Repaired certificate chain to re-enable web extensions that had been disable” The …

May 2019 Xbox Live Games With Gold
So, Microsoft finally got around to putting up the May Games With Gold video… 3 days late. Yep, they waited until May 3rd to upload it. Go figure. Whatever. We’ll cover it just like we do every Games with Gold announcement, so without any further delay, let’s get to it. It can’t be all bad, …

A Fix Has Been Released For Last Night’s Firefox Addon Issue
Last night was a pretty big mess for Firefox users (like myself) as the add-on functionality of the browser was, effectively, completely broken, due to an issue involving a security certificate expiring, rendering every add-on for the browser invalid. To put it really simply, a while back Mozilla began validating add-ons themselves, giving them a …

Did Your Firefox Addons Just Break? You’re Not the Only One
I was preparing for another late night of getting articles out for you when, while chatting with a friend on Facebook I got an alert that one of the plugins I use on the site was no longer active. I was surprised, but thought little of it until I noticed I was seeing ads on …

Hey Microsoft, Why No May Games With Gold Video?
As regular readers know, I like to cover the “Games with Gold” game selection every month by sharing the official video from Microsoft alongside my comments on each game, as presented in the video. If I know more about the game or have an opinion on it outside of Games with Gold, I’ll share that …

What’s Coming For May 2019 On Xadara
Oh boy, another one of these. Why do I put myself through this monthly game of “make promises and never deliver them?” Oh, right, because I’m crazy like that. 🙂 Anyway, on to the question – What’s coming for the next month? The answer is exactly what you would expect: Stuff. I’ll put it this …

Gaming Discussion Can Be Incredibly Frustrating At Times – An Update
It’s been a while since my last post. Damn near a week, in fact. I feel like every moment I get closer to really having a proper article flow here, something comes up which throws a wrench in the works, and of course because I’m transparent as a sheet of glass on what’s going on …

Apple II Forever – The Event, And The Song
35 years ago today, in 1984, Apple held an event, appropriately named “Apple II Forever” where they launched the then new Apple IIc, a portable version of the incredibly successful Apple II computer. The event itself was designed to show Apple’s continued commitment to the Apple II computer line in spite of the Macintosh having …

The Nintendo Game Boy Turns 30 Today. Awesome.
Today, April 21st 2019 Marks 30 years since the release of the Nintendo Game Boy in Japan. While the US would have to wait until July 31st, 1989 to get the console, and Europe even longer, today is the day that little brick of a portable gaming system hit the market, and oh did it …

The End Of The GameAnyone Situation
I’m a few days late on covering this, but the slightly crazy situation my friend Prince Watercress had with the website GameAnyone is, well, I wouldn’t call it over, but it’s come to a resolution. You can read Part 1 and Part 2 at the following links – I won’t explain the entire situation here …

Why The Serious Topics?
While I have been a little less active this week than the last week, anyone visiting the site will notice that the two most recent articles, one on the sinking of the Titanic and the other on the recent fire at Notre-Dame, are on rather serious subjects – this on a blog which normally covers …
